The Handyman Service - New Doorway

Client brief

"We wanted a inner porch wall and door building in our Victorian house. We specifically wanted the inner door to be a good seal so as to stop heat loss, drafts and to look authentic so as to match the other original Victorian door ways in the hallway."

What we did:

To accomplish the above requirement we had to source a similar door, mouldings and door furniture to match existing doors. I had to build a new studded wall complete with door frame. Taken care to allow enough room for movability in both section of the new hallway. I also made sure that the studded wall didn't damage the existing Victorian mouldings in the ceiling. All in all the job accomplished the brief and the hallway not only solve the draft issues but has also reduced the noise pollution from the main road.
